Assistants needed at L’arche

I recieved this today and was asked to let former JV’s know about it. L arche is an organisation that shares many values with JVC and have been a good placement for JVC volunteers in Liverpool for years now. Maybe there are JV’s out there who would like to do this:

L’ARCHE LAMBETH

Building Community with people with learning disabilities

L’Arche Lambeth is an ecumenical Christian Community providing residential support and day opportunities for adults with learning difficulties in South East London.

We are looking for two live out House Assistant to work in the Vine, one of our residential homes for adults with learning difficulties. This is to enable the team to provide support for a new man with learning difficulties we will be welcoming to the house in November. Due to his personal care needs we are only recruiting men for these roles.

The emphasis is on providing high quality support and building relationships and friendships with the people with learning difficulties, and other assistants. You will receive excellent training, after completing a year with us this will include NVQ Level 3.

One of these roles will be mainly supporting one man with learning difficulties Monday – Friday during the day, and occasional weekends.

You must be interested in and committed to the values of L’Arche and open to working flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Salary: £15,000 – £18,816 depending on experience.
